Most training courses are covered in 3 days (ILRO) then the week is made up of Personal Licence (1day) and food Hygiene (1 day) so all in all your complete pub training is over in just 3 days, how on earth you are supposed learn and absorb all areas of the business in 3 days is simply ridiculous and contributes to the large amount of failures.

• 5 full days Monday-Friday 9-5pm.
• 3 week-ends (5 days for those who work full time)

Whichever you choose they are designed to suit you and will give you much more time to have a complete understanding of the business you are about to take on. We will have time to discuss the type of pub you would like to operate, the surroundings, the competition, rent (if leased) and discounts available before you actually sign up and if you require your food hygiene in the future or your personal licence than you can do it on line.

We might not be a massive training company that churns out 3 days pub courses every week but what we do is build your confidence with a thorough understanding of the business. Our training and time-table is not so tight that we don’t have time to ask and answer questions and issues that may arise because we care about this business and you and want you to succeed

I have been a successful licensee for the past 25 years, having won various awards along the way. I was highly commended by the BII for business building through training and also a trainer manager for Bass for many years.
My success in every pub I have managed is without doubt down to the detailed training I received, with this in mind Key Training was formed because I firmly believe that the turmoil and depression currently suffered by our industry cannot all be laid at the door of economic circumstance, and that a significant percentage of closures are directly attributed to ill-equipped and poorly trained licensees struggling to compete in today's tough market place.
Key Pub Training covers all areas of the business based upon my extensive training and career experiences which delivers much more than the basics that unfortunately most training courses offer today. We have also built the Key Support System to enable the licensee to complete calculations such as food costing, discounting, staff costing and weekly net profit with ease. Our training is both practical and classroom and takes place where pub training should do, in a pub, allowing essential skills to be absorbed and shown at ease in a relaxed and informal atmosphere by an experienced licensed house trainer. If you need to improve your bar skills and are staying overnight feel free to get behind the bar on a night for an hour or so.
